Mikhail Tal

Mikhail Tal was the 8th World Chess Champion, reigning from 1960 to 1961. He is particularly notable for his penetrating stare which disconcerted many of his opponents. In one match his opponent, actually took to wearing sunglasses to keep his concentration. In response and as a joke, Tal wore large glasses he borrowed from someone in the crowd.
