Proper Placement of a Chessboard
A chess board is used in standard chess. It has 64, 8x8 alternate colored squares. These are usually black and white but can be any two different colors. It is important to remember that when the board is placed the lighter color square should be on the right side. Also the 1st rank should be on the white's side and the 8th rank on black's side.
