The Barnes Opening

This blocks the knight on g1 from developing to the aggressive f3 square, and forcing it to go to e2 or h3. However, the f3 pawn somewhat controls the center, but can be done the same or better by any other reasonable opening. It also weakens the dark squares, which in turn weakens the white king on the e1-h4 diagonal, and can cause Fool's mate. Black can then respond with e5 or d5. Chess engines gives a 0.6 and 0.9 advantage to black for both moves respectively.
